External Scholarships

The following scholarships are offered by External Community organizations.  Students must apply directly to organizations to be eligible for consideration for scholarships.

The LUMEN Society ScholarshipThe LUMEN Scholarship is open to students who have been impacted by invisible illnesses either directly or indirectly, so whether they have an invisible illness themselves or someone in their life has an invisible illness they are eligible to apply. The LUMEN Society is offering 2 scholarships of $1000 each for 2019 students who have been impacted by invisible illnesses. BCCPAC ScholarshipThe BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils is proud to offer a $1000 Educational Award to graduating students. The award is open to any Grade 12 student attending a BCCPAC-member school who is planning to pursue post-secondary studies (academic, vocational, technical or training). The awards honours a well-rounded student who is involved and interested in many things and has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education. BC Dairy Association ScholarshipBC Dairy Association, a proud sponsor of BC School Sports, is pleased to announce offer two $1000 scholarships to student athletes who exemplify school spirit, practice a healthy lifestyle, and engage with their community. Applicants must have competed ub BCSS girls volleyball or ultimate, and plan on attending an accredited Canadian University or College. BCSS Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton ScholarshipThe Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarship fund is provided by Bert & Greta Quartermaine, and is dedicated to assisting worthy BC School Sports student-athletes competing in badminton at the high school level in their desire to attend an accredited Canadian post-secondary school. BCSS Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship & Zone ScholarshipsDave Gifford was a BCSS Director from 1988-90, and received the BCSS Honour Award in 1992. This $1500 scholarship is for one male and one female student who truly excel as a student-athlete. Applicants must have competed in at least two (2) BCSS approved sports during their grade 12 year. Unsuccessful applicants for the Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship will automatically be considered for their respective Zone Scholarship. (Please DO NOT complete two applications). The United Croats Of Canada Kim Tomislav Branch ScholarshipThe United Croats of Canada King Tomislav Branch (Croatian Cultural Centre Vancouver) provides scholarships and bursaries in the amounts of $500 and $1000 to deserving grade 12 students of Croatian heritage. Applications are due by MAY 1ST. Applications can be found in the counseling office or online at:
Alice Brown Elementary ScholarshipA $500 scholarship is available to all graduates who have attended Alice Brown Elementary for at least one full year. This year’s application includes an essay of 50 words regarding “Why am I a good candidate for the Alice Brown Scholarship”. The deadline to apply is April 3. Applications are available in the counseling office.$500
Langley Rugby Club ScholarshipThe Langley Rugby Club offers two scholarships of $500 each for a male and female graduating student. Applicants must be Langley-based and actively involved and devoted to the game (at school and/or with the Langley Rugby Club), either as a player, referee, or administrator. Langley Teachers AssociationThe Langley Teachers Association offers ten scholarships of $800 each to graduating students in the Langley School District. Applicants shoud demonstrate a history of sustained involvement within the school and/or wider community in a manner that speaks to their understanding of, and willingness to be engaged in, social justice, community, equity, leadership, minority issues and work in these areas. Application information is available in the counselling office. The deadline to apply is April 15.$800 x10
The BCEA Bursary ProgramThe British Columbia Electrical Association members have raised funds this year to award $500 - $1,000 bursaries. Bursaries are available to grade twelve and post secondary students pursuing a career in the following areas:
1. Electrical (including apprentices)
2. Marketing
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Business
Bursaries will be awarded to post secondary students and grade twelve students who will be attending a post secondary school in September (Apprentices must be returning back to school in the next school year). Bursaries will be paid directly to the post secondary school and will be allocated towards your tuition. Students are required to attend a post secondary school in British Columbia full-time. Applications are available in the counselling office.

The Otter Co-op Scholarship
Otter Co-Op offers 8 x $1000 scholarships to grade twelve students whose parents/guardians have spent $2000 with Otter Co-op in the prior fiscal year. Applications are available online at www.otterco-op.crs. Completed applications must be sent to mmcauley@otter-coop.com. The deadlint to apply is April 30.$1000 x8
