D.W. Poppy Secondary is getting ready to host its Annual Poppy Car Show on Sunday May 5^th,  2024 from 9am – 3pm. There is a $5 minimum donation; however, children 12 & under are free.

Our tradition of putting on one of the first car shows of the season brings many benefits for the school.  We hope to see over 700 cars on display in our school back field, and welcome thousands of spectators.

This is a family friendly all ages event. Spectators will enjoy an array of collector vehicles and motorcycles, vendors, concession, music, 50/50 draws, car show t-shirt sales, hats, vintage signs, raffle and more. The event is our school’s biggest fundraiser and benefits our entire school including the shops and school technology, athletic teams, dry grad and many others. As a gentle reminder please no dogs as the show takes place on school grounds.

The shop and Tech Ed departments are able to purchase tools and technology that are used for the student’s projects and around the school – this year they are hoping to raise money towards a tire mounting machine, lathes, a countertop in the metalwork tool room, tools for trades class, air fryers and replacement of old equipment in the Foods room and other educational program wish list items.

Our students volunteer at the show and learn the value of contributing to, and being part of a community and the importance of giving back. Their volunteer time at the car show benefits them through increased program opportunities and enriches their academic experiences such as athletic trips, the school race car, Dry Grad celebration and more. You will find students helping out on the day of the show at the concession, the gates, parking cars, on the grounds and during setup/clean up.

It is also an opportunity for the school to connect and network with the local community – this year we are again looking forward to welcoming the Fort Langley Lions Club who will be offering a pancake breakfast in the morning to our exhibitors and spectators from 7 am – 11 am. Our basketball teams will be running the concession from 11 am – 3 pm.

Preregistered participants limited, all pre-registrations will receive a dash plaque and will be entered into our hourly draw, on the day of the event, for a collector Poppy Car Show memorabilia item.
Dash plaques are limited to the first 750 entrants. The show is on rain or shine – no refunds.

Registration on show day at the gate is a minimum $20 donation.  Vehicles interested in parking together must arrive together.
Lastly, participant entry is from 7AM – 10AM.
