Dry Grad Committee meeting Monday November 7 in the library at 7 pm – for ANY Grade 12 parents interested in seeing a Dry Grad 2017 event happen – information will be shared about what is involved in planning an event and how to get started.
Dry Grad is a parent driven event to encourage the students to enjoy safe and dry graduation celebration. Typically the event takes place immediately following prom until 4-6 am (as decided) – this year prom is on Thursday Jun 29 at Newlands Golf Course. The school or the PAC is not involved in the planning or running of the Dry Grad.
Planning for Dry Grad is handled by a Dry Grad Committee of interested parents. The Committee is initiated by calling a meeting for any interested parents who would like to see a Dry Grad event happen. At the meeting, it is determined if there is enough interest in pursuing the planning of a dry grad event and a committee of interested parents is formed along with a list of interested volunteers who can help support the planning and running of a Dry Grad Event in different capacities as time allows – could be looking after booking a venue, chaperoning the Dry Grad event, putting together treat bags to give out the night of the event, organizing food for the event, riding the bus to the venue the night of the event, looking after getting insurance coverage or booking entertainment for the evening, applying for grants, purchasing gift cards, purchasing supplies, printing and selling tickets…… there are many different ways to help out and many hands make light work.
